Photo fx Ultra – $5.99
Photo fx Ultra for iPad
If you need to do some color corrections or just want to change the look of some of your photos, Photo fx Ultra is the one for you. You can choose between 68 different filters and 65 different color looks. You can add multiple filters on the whole image or selectively by painting a mask. Supports resolutions up to 3072 pixels. A truly great app.

FlickStackr – $1.99
FlickStackr for iPad
FlickStackr is a useful app if you use Flickr to store and publish your images. It’s easy to uplad, tag and manage your Flickr sets. Definitely the best Flickr app at the moment

TiltShift Generator for iPad – $2.99
TiltShift Generator for iPad
TiltShift Generator for iPad is a tool for applying cool depth-of-field effects to your photos. You could go for a classic TiltShift-look where it looks like you took a shot of miniatures or you can just use the app to adjust the saturation, brightness and contrast. The interface is really great and it can make a photo look better in seconds. One of my definit favorites in this genre.

Cropalator for iPad
Cropolator for iPad is a really great app for rotating and cropping your images. The user interface is lovely and it supports resolutions up to 3072 pixels. I use this one a lot for quick crop & rotate tasks.

Diptic – $1.99
Diptic for iPad
Diptic is an app that will let you combine two or three different photos and make a single collage photo. Straight forward with good results. The only problem with this app is that the export function only will give you a photo with a 1024×1024 resolution = don’t expect full resolution exports.

Photo Transfer App – $2.99
Photo Transfer App for iPad
If you have an iPad, iPhone or your computer on the same WiFi network you can use the ’Photo Transfer App’ to easily move the images between the devices. I prefer using DropBox below, but that’s because when I’m in the need to move a photo from my iPhone to my iPad they are usually not connected to a WiFi.

Cinq for iPad
Cinq is a clever software the installs a server on your computer (or several computers) holding your iPhoto library. You can then use the Cinq application to connect to your library and browse all of your photos. It’s a really clever solution – and it works perfectly!

Photogene for iPad
One of the most popular photo editing apps for the iPad is PhotoGene. It’s a very straight forward application with a nice GUI. You can do simple corrections, cropping and add different filters and frames. For $3.99 this is a nice application that will give you great value for your money.

Scott Kelby's Photo Recipes Live for iPad
Scott Kelby is the author behind the extremely popular photo books ’Scott Kelby’s Digital Photography Volumes 1, 2 and 3’. Here’s a great app that will learn you how to snap the photos you want. Simple, plain English. Great information but if you already own the books you can skip this one.

Colorsplash for iPad
Colorsplash will let you do convert your photos to black and white and add the color on specific areas by using your finger as a brush. It’s fun to play around with but it’s more fun than reaylly useful if you would ask me. Still, one of the coolest iPad photo apps at the moment.

SketchMee HD – $4.99
SketchMee HD for iPad
SketchMee HD is an application that will turn your photo into a piece of art. It’s easy to use but you have to fiddle around with the settings a bit to get a good end result. It supports resolutions up to 4096 by 3072 so you can even use it for doing large printouts with decent quality.

DropBox – free
Dropbox
DropBox is a great tool for moving photos from your iPhone to your iPad or any computer with Dropbox installed. Just install the application and you can easily add photos, or get photos from the DropBox folder. You get up to 2GB of storage in the free version and can get 100GB if you go premium.
