2 Screens LE – web browsing on an external screen with iPad

2 Screens LE

A few days ago I wrote a short note on the iPad VGA Adapter and the fact that it couldn’t mirror the iPad display on an external display. Today I found a new program called ’2 Screens LE’ which enables web browsing on the external screen. It’s a $1.99 app and it actually works even though it’s very sluggish. It only updates the display every approx 0.5 seconds so it doesn’t look very smooth, but it solves my problem of hooking up the iPad and showing a web page on the big screen. More images and info inside.

Basically you just fire up the 2 Screens LE, enables the option ‘Mirror whole screen’ and you’re ready to go. You can even hook up an iPhone and use that one as a remote if you have the proper software installed on the iPhone. For 2 bucks it solved my problem and even though the display on the screen is very unlike Apple (sluggish and not very smooth) at least I can hook the iPad up and get a web page up on the big screen or a projector.
