Get the FaceTime beta
One of the new things Steve Jobs presented at yesterdays ‘Back to the Mac’ event was that FaceTime will come to the OS X, making it possible to call an iPhone from your Mac and vice versa. A beta version is already available and I just tried it out. It worked flawless for me even though it’s just a beta. I tried it with my MacBook and an iPhone on the same WiFi so it’s a bit too early to evaluate it, but I like the idea!

Angry Birds Halloween
Today Rovio launched their Halloween edition of Angry Birds. It’s of course just a clever way of making a bunch of money, but it’s a really nice game with 45 new levels. You can get it in the App Store now for $0.99 and the HD edition for $1.99. Check out the trailer above and if you like the original, you’ll dig this one as well.

The New MacBook Air
The most interesting part of the show was when Steve Jobs showed the ‘one more thing‘ of the evening – the new MacBook Air family. They come in two models, 11-inch and 13-inch models, and are quite affordable as well starting at just US$999. They are available today and the best model you can get is the 13-inch with 256 GB of storage, 4GB of RAM, and a 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. All models comes with solid state flash storage and the new really cool ‘instant on’ features. More info and images inside.
Live stream from today’s Apple event
Check out Apple’s live stream from the current Apple event (happening right now!). We’ll hopefully get to see a new MacBook Air and some great, new software:
Apple Q4 Results – 14.1 Million iPhones Sold
I just got a press release from Apple letting us know that they sold a record breaking 14.1 Million iPhones during their last quarter (fiscal quarter, ended September 25, 2019). They also sold 4.19 Million iPads, 3.89 million Macs and 9.05 million iPods. Pretty massive. Read the full press release after the jump.
OS X 10.7 event on Oct 20 (probably)
It looks like Apple will showcase an early version of OS X 10.7 – codename ‘Lion’? – on Oct 20. At least they are having an event called ‘Back to the Mac’. The same time last year they showcased Snow Leopard, so an updated OS preview is a probable guess. And perhaps a new MacBook Air?

iPhone camera shootout
Today I have done a camera shootout with the iPhone 4, the iPhone 3Gs and the iPhone 3G. As you already know the difference between the cameras in these phones is quite big but it was interesting to find out just how big. Check out the shootout gallery inside.

iPhone camera shootout part 2
In the second part of the test I have done some outdoor shooting during almost perfect light conditions. All of the cameras perform pretty good during these conditions and you can get some decent shots even with the iPhone 3G. Check them out inside.

iPhone camera shootout part 3
In the third part of the test I’m shooting an object from a pretty close distance (15 cm). Here you can really see a big difference between the different cameras and if you compare the 3G with the iPhone 4 side by side you can see that they are miles apart.
