Mac Clocks and more from Geekware
Nicola Harper from Edmonton, Canada is transforming obsolete electronic waste into fun and geeky gifts. Here’s her latest lovely creations, sold at her site Geekware. If you want one of them you’d better be quick since most of the items are available only in very limited editions.
Here’s a lovely example; an old Little Professor (toy calculator from the early 1980′s) has been transformed into a clock

And here’s an old iMac keyboard that also serves as a clock.

Finally, a magnetic message centre made out of an old G3 keyboard.

Futuristic Yachts
GadgetSharp just did a post about 8 really cool and futuristic yachts. I’m especially fond of the ‘Infanitas’ by E. Kevin Schopfer featured above. Check them all out:

Avatar for the Atari 2600
The Australian freelance designer ‘Penney Design’ has created a bunch of retro looking package designs for modern TV series and movies. Above you can see what James Cameron’s Avatar would look like if it would have been released 30 years ago for the Atari 2600. At his Tumblr-site you can see other package designs for Lost, Prison Break, Cloverfield and Snakes on a plane.
PhotoTropedelic for iPhone
I just stumbled across this really cool iPhone application that will turn any of your existing photos (or a freshly snapped one) into a lovely piece of pop art. It has lots of different settings which can create lots of different interesting results, and the best part is that you can save the final file as a PDF. More information inside.
Dell 2209WA – mini review
I have been looking for a nice rotatable screen a while, and I finally went for a Dell 2209WA. It’s a 22 inch screen featuring a resolution of 1680×1050 that is supposed to deliver excellent image quality along with the feature that I really was looking for – the ability to rotate the screen 90 degrees. It also helped that you wouldn’t need to run a credit report to see if you could afford such a cool monitor as it very affordable. Here’s my mini review of the Dell 2209WA.
Windows 7 wallpapers
So, you got your nice new Windows 7 installation but realize that the bundled wallpapers are quite boring? Don’t despair here’s a bunch of nice Windows 7 wallpapers!

Retro iPod speaker
Here is a really cool mini speaker for your iPod or iPhone. It looks just like an old boom box and is compatible with a wide range of iPods. It’s a tiny device so our guess is that the sound quality isn’t that good. This beauty is yours for $32.

Retro iPod cassette case
From Contexture design you can buy these cool iPod protection cases made out of old gutted cassette tapes. Each design is unique since they aren’t mass produced. More information inside.
iPhone document scanner
Here is a nice design made by Kyle A Koch, an industrial design student at the University of Cincinnati’s school of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP). It’s basically a stand where you put your iPhone to get a steady shot of a 8.5″ x 11″ document. It’s available in two versions – a simple cardboard version for $19 or a MDF version for $45.
