iPhone 4 reception problems
As you can see in the video above there seems to be a problem with the reception when you hold the iPhone 4. The signal drops from almost full strength to ‘no service’ in a matter of seconds. This only happens when you hold the phone and touch both the left side antenna and the bottom antenna at the same time. That bumper protection mentioned earlier today might be a very good accessory to have…
iPhone 4
Apparently some random guy found this iPhone prototype in a San Francisco bar, and gave or sold it to Gizmodo. It’s the real deal, but since it’s a prototyp the final design might look like something completely different. Anyway, it’s a real interesting story.
What’s new
• Front-facing video chat camera
• Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
• Camera flash
• Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
• Improved display. It’s unclear if it’s the 960×640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the “Connect to iTunes” screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
• What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
• Split buttons for volume
• Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic

Opera Mini for iPhone released
Today Apple approved and launched the iPhone/iPad/iPod touch web browser Opera Mini in the app store – which actually surprised me a bit since it’s a product that goes head on with the built-in Safari browser. After a quick test I must say that the first version disappoints me. It feels a bit sluggish (not loading time, but the scrolling and zooming part). It’s not that intuitive as the Safari browser. The biggest advantage I have noticed so far is that it’s easier to open pages and links in new tabs, and that Opera can store login information. Regardless, it’s nice to see some competition to Apple’s built-in products and Opera will most probably get better in future versions

HTC Desire – 13 pages review
The HTC Desire is one of the most interesting phones this spring, and even iPhone addicts seem to be interested in this phone. Here’s one of the best reviews I’ve stumbled across so far – 13 pages with lots and lots of information. And they really like it. Here’s a snap from their final verdict:
In short, this is a phenomenal phone – one of the best we’ve ever had on TechRadar. Usually when we like a phone on the first use, we end up horribly disappointed after a little time with it, but the HTC Desire kept on performing and achieving when we thought it wouldn’t.

Nokia C6
It looks like the first image of the new Nokia C6 has leaked out. It doesn’t look like it will be a groundbreaking phone though, and it’s probably going to be a low budget phone. We will publish more details as soon as we get any.
Blackberry made out of Lego

Nathan Sawaya has created a gigantic Blackberry Tour 9360 out of Lego, complete with a working LCD screen as a display. It’s way more impressive than his tiny iPhone lego sculpture. Check it out.

Windows Phone 7
Today Microsoft their new mobile operative system ‘Windows Phone 7′ and I’m sorry to say that I’m not impressed – but it’s waaay better than the mediocre ‘Windows mobile’ they have been playing around with for the last couple of years. Here’s a short video of a mobile in action that is equipped with Windows Phone 7.

Nokia admits N97 lens problem
Today Nokia admitted that there are ‘some’ problems Nokia N97 lens. The problem is that the lens cover is fitted too close to the lens which actually makes it damage the lens instead of protecting it. It’s interesting that it took so long for Nokia to admit this since there are thousands of sites and posts about this well known problem.

iPhone 3.1.2 OS update
Today Apple launched a new version of the OS for iPhone and iPod touch. It’s the 3.1.2 version and the most important fixes are:
• Resolves sporadic issue that may cause iPhone to not wake from sleep
• Resolves intermittent issue that may interrupt cellular network services until restart
• Fixes bug that could cause occasional crash during video streaming
If you hook up your phone in iTunes it will find the 250 MB update.
Windows Mobile 6.5
I got the chance to play around with a couple of phones running the recently launched Windows Mobile 6.5 and it was quite interesting. At the first glance it looked a bit fresh with a new home screen, the market place, a revamped Internet Explorer but after a short while I realized that it’s basically the same thing as Windows Mobile 6.1 – crap. I was really, really disappointed. Hopefully Windows Mobile 7.0 will be a different ballgame, otherwise Microsoft is in big trouble…
