As you might know the iPhone 3GS comes with an updated camera, and just to show you a quick glimpse of how big the difference actually is I put together a small comparison with two photos.
The top photos is taken with the 3GS and as you can see the colors are more natural and the whole image just looks much better. Here’s two extracts from both of the photos where you get a pixel per pixel 100% crop of both images:

The biggest difference is when you shoot close-ups. The 3G can’t really take sharp images of text but with the 3GS it’s a whole new ballgame. The images are really sharp. This photo is taken with poor lighting so the 3GS picture looks a bit noisey as well, but the difference in sharpness is very big.

why cant we download the new camera on to the 3g with the zooom and camera recorder options would be nice an it seems so simple of a change whether or not the 3gs is in fact a better quality camera for sure but how about the 3g owners that just want new camera upgrade with new options and features such as the face recognition and recorder the ones you download from the app store dont seem to be have a smooth or as well developed for appeal or even function with the way they did the 3gs its simple an efficient with just a slide you go from camera to recorder not having to switch apps
they 3gs camera is a better actual camera. I have found that the 3g and 3gs cameras are interchangeable physicly but i thing the software on the 3g doesnt reconize the upgraded camera im working on this and trying to find a way to make it work.
