Samsung HT-BD3252 is a new complete home entertainment system containing, combined Blu-ray player / receiver, 5.1 speakers (the rear ones are wireless) and support for all the latest high definition audio and video codecs. The system will be out in August for $799. More information inside.

The Samsung HT-BD3252 provides a theater-like sound at home, with an expanded center channel ensuring clear dialogue reproduction and the inclusion of front tallboy and wireless rear speakers delivering notable audio presence and décor-friendly sophisticated style. The system’s 1,000W of total power paired together with Samsung’s crystal amplifier and unique, bio kelp speaker cones allows consumers to enjoy improved audio detail and dynamics. Samsung’s Auto Sound Calibration (ASC) automatically adjusts the speakers to optimum levels and output depending upon their seating position at the touch of a button. Additionally, the system supports decoding of the latest HD audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD™ and DTS-HD Master Audio®.

The Samsung HT-BD3252 touts exceptional video playback with its integrated Blu-ray player, which supports BD-Live™ interactive content (available on select Blu-ray discs) using either the wired Ethernet port, or wirelessly with the included Wi-Fi USB dongle. Consumers can instantly stream the latest SD and HD content from Netflix and access Pandora’s library of online music right on their TV (subscriptions required). Starting in the Fall of 2009, BLOCKBUSTER OnDemand service will become available via a future firmware upgrade. For added entertainment options, the HT-BD3252 plays a variety of audio and photo files from a networked PC, a connected USB device, such as a digital camera, or even a portable drive for big-screen sharing with family and friends.     Frank,

    the rear speakers are completely wireless. However, it’s not specified how they are powered but I guess they have it’s own power source (or perhaps batteries but that is less likely).

    Often it is written “wireless rear speaker”, but it means only the connection from the system to one rear speaker, the connection between boths rear speakers is via cable.

    Hi…just bought one and LOVE it. The rear speakers are wired to a wireless receiver module which plugs in to an outlet on the back wall of you room. Thus, they are both wired to an electric module. It does prevent you from having to wire the rear speakers to the main unit. In essence it is wireless front to back with the fronts wired to the main unit (along with the center channel and subwoofer) and the rears wired to the module plugged in to the back of the room. Hope this helps.

    I’ve had mine for a few days.  Hook up was easy and the picture is awesome.  I absolutely love it!  My only complaint is that the surround sound options are controlled using three buttons on the remote and their functions aren’t described very well in the manual.  I’m still trying to figure out what everything means.  But I do absolutely love it!!

    I got mine from Amazon.com for $611 w/ free ship….the next day after I ordered they switched the price back to $799, I guess they found their mistake.  It is a GREAT system, the wireless speakers work flawlessly, sub isnt as booming as an Onkyo system, but still more than enough sound for a medium sized living-room. 

    One problem, haven’t found speaker mounts that are usable for the rears?  Anyone else know who makes mounts that are compatible?
