Be careful with your iPhone

Be careful with your iPhone

I actually dropped my iPhone 3G quite badly a couple of days ago and it only got a small mark in one of the plastic corners, but this guy wasn’t as lucky. He did something similiar and dropped the phone from about three feet into the sidewalk, and now his phone is ready for the trash bin.

Make your iPhone 3G fit

Old iPhone dock

Rather than throwing away your old iPhone dock, you can just use your steady hands and a dremel and make your bulkier iPhone 3G fit. It will all be over in a minute or two if you got the right tools.

iPhone 3G sold out

iPhone 3G

I just read over at Appleinsider that the iPhone 3G is almost sold out all over the states, and that seems to be the case in almost all countries where iPhone 3G debuted ten days ago. In Sweden they ran out of phones after only a few days. I guess those factories are working round the clock and it will be interesting to see how many months it will take until they have delivered enough phones to get on par with the demand.

iPhone moved one million units during the opening weekend. That is really impressive if you compare it to the original iPhone (which also sold really good) where it took 74 days until they reached the first initial target of 1 million sold phones. Full press release inside.

iPhone 3G line - paid by Apple?

iPhone 3G line - paid by Apple

Waiting in a tent outside an Apple store for a week and get a slightly updated phone - and pay for it as well - is just so absurd that it honestly makes me think that it’s just a PR thing from Apple. The photo above is taken today outside the Apple Store in NYC.

What do you think? Would you stand in line for more than a couple of hours to get an iPhone 3G? I wouldn’t stand in line for more than 10 minutes…

iPhone 3G - July 11

iPhone 3G - white

I must admit that I am a bit disappointed that there wasn’t anything more than the iPhone 3G on show tonight - but the new phone looks really great so I can live with that. The new price level set at $199 ($299 for the 16GB) is extremely aggressive and there is no doubt that Apple is aiming for world domination with their iPhone. Full press release and images after the jump.
