Waiting in a tent outside an Apple store for a week and get a slightly updated phone - and pay for it as well - is just so absurd that it honestly makes me think that it’s just a PR thing from Apple. The photo above is taken today outside the Apple Store in NYC.

What do you think? Would you stand in line for more than a couple of hours to get an iPhone 3G? I wouldn’t stand in line for more than 10 minutes…

I must admit that I am a bit disappointed that there wasn’t anything more than the iPhone 3G on show tonight - but the new phone looks really great so I can live with that. The new price level set at $199 ($299 for the 16GB) is extremely aggressive and there is no doubt that Apple is aiming for world domination with their iPhone. According to Silicon Alley Insider the new iPhone model which expects to be announced on Monday is stored in a Quanta Computer warehouse in Fremont, California. I hope they are right because then there will be plenty of phones available next week.

Apple has sent out a bunch of secret packages that comes with a Non Disclosure Agreement - and you aren’t even supposed to open the box until Tuesday (yeah, right).

The sticker on the box reads: ‘Subject to terms of NDA. Do not open until Tuesday June 10th 2008′. I bet that it contains a bunch of new iPhones.

I suppose Steve Jobs ain’t too found of the leaked AT&T memo that says that store employees should avoid taking vacations between June 15th and July 12th since there will be an “an exciting Summer Promotional launch,” - just happens that it’s a few days after Mr Jobs next keynote…3G iPhone, here we come.

AppleInsider has just published a bunch of new photos posted at a Chinese language mobile community earlier today. They match a description of 3G phone published over at at iLongue a few days ago. I think it looks fake though…
