iPhone – most popular mobile camera
By Mikael Svardh Wednesday March 11, 2009
I am the first one to admit that the iPhone camera is bad. Really bad. Still, I use it a lot! The rest of the phone is so good that you can live with having a quite lousy built-in camera. Above you can see a graph of the most used mobile camera on the most popular photosite, flickr.com – and as you can see, the iPhone kills the competition. I wonder how the graph would have looked if the iPhone would have had a good camera? And I’m pretty sure it won’t take long until we will get a new model with a better camera.
3D camera from Fujifilm
By Mikael Svardh Tuesday September 30, 2008
At least something innovative is released on the, currently quite boring, camera market. This little beast from Fujifilm features two lenses and is capable of capturing stereoscopic images. Neat! Too bad you have to wait until next year to get it though, but at that time Fujifilm promises that the camera will capture high definition video as well.

Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot
By Mikael Svardh Tuesday June 17, 2008
Sony Ericsson held a press event this morning where they unveiled a couple of new phones. The most interesting one was the Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot – a brand new 8.1 megapixel phone/camera wíth built-in GPS for automatic geo tagging. I wonder when they will give me at least 3x optical zoom though… Full press release after the jump.
Ricoh GR Digital II – review
By Mikael Svardh Wednesday April 30, 2008
I just got a mail from Mark over at Photographyblog letting us know that they have published a nice review of the quite unusual camera GR Digital II from Richoh. It looks like something made in Russia in the 1970s but got an awesome review:
Back in the real world, we’re left with a pocket camera that is a veritable pleasure to use and which delivers excellent photos at slower ISO speeds. If you want the ultimate image quality, then you should clearly choose the Sigma DP1, despite its short-comings. If you want a more well-rounded and versatile 28mm camera, then the Ricoh is still a fantastic choice for the serious photographer.
So if you are looking for a new small pocket camera this one might be worth checking out.
