This guy has made a short movie featuring all of his Apple computers – lots of them! It’s quite interesting to see how ugly they were at some point, especially the big, bulky beige ones.

You might remember other successful Quirky products including the Cloak, a sleek, sturdy iPad case; the DigiDude, a portable camera tripod and keychain; the Scratch-n-Scroll, a mousepad with a writing surface; and the PowerCurl , a cord wrap for Apple’s MagSafe power adapter.

Quirky engages participants to collaborate in every aspect of product creation — from ideation, design, naming, manufacturing, marketing, right on through to sales. Anyone can participate on Quirky.com either by submitting their own product idea for $99, or by voting, rating, and influencing other people’s product ideas. Cooler still, 30¢ of every dollar generated from the sale of a Quirky product goes back to these influencers.

Every week, users post ideas on Quirky to be rated by the Quirky community. The community surveys the submissions during a seven-day evaluation period and selects one product to move forward into product development. Quirky’s community then begins weighing in on everything from naming to logo selection to packaging through to prototype.

The final product becomes available for pre-sale in the Quirky online store (quirky.com/products). Once the product hits its pre-sale threshold, credit cards are charged, and the product goes into production and delivery. At this point, 30¢ of every dollar made from the sale of these products goes back to the community. “Community” in this case covers both the ideator as well as all people who voted, commented, and rated the project idea along the way.

I just stumbled across this cool wine rack that looks just like the input / output connectors from the back of an amp or a TV. The rack is designed by two young Italians, L.Bregoli and M.Fanelli, under the brand ‘Rocket’. Nice rack with a high gadget geek factor. It can be yours for around $200.

Nicola Harper from Edmonton, Canada is transforming obsolete electronic waste into fun and geeky gifts. Here’s her latest lovely creations, sold at her site Geekware. If you want one of them you’d better be quick since most of the items are available only in very limited editions.

The first gadget on the list is for those of you who want a citchy bathroom. The light is powered by a small water turbine so you will never have to worry about changing the batteries. If the water is cold (below 32 degrees C or 89 degress F) the LED shower light turns the color of the water into blue, but as soon as it gets warmer it changes to red. 7.) Mood Light Shelf

This is more of an interior design item than a gadget but since there is electricity (hehe, that would justify having all lamps on the list ) involved in this shelf I will let it be a part of this list. It can be arranged in thousands different ways and the color of the lightning is also customizable. The price is a bit on the expensive side, US$229.00, but it’s a really cool item.

6.) Graffiti Light in a Can

Here is a really nice combination of a UV light sensitive sheet, and a spray can that consists of a fluid that makes it possible to ‘paint’ on the sheet. Your graffiti will fade out within an hour and then you are ready to give it another go. Great gadget for $50.

5.) Lightsaber USB lamp

Here is a nice USB gadget for all Star Wars fans out there. It’s a USB powererd lightsaber that lights up when you hit a nice bronze button on the handle. Together with your iPhone and the light sabre app you can have lots of fun. Your for around $30.

3.) USB DJ Plasma Tube

It’s hard to justify these cool tubes with words, so check out this short video of the tubes in action to get an idea of what they are all about. Really cool if you play some adaptive music in a dark room. They are pretty cheap, $13 a piece, but you should get at least a couple of them to get the desired effect.

The classic Lava lamp has it’s origin from the 1970′s and it’s still a very popular lamp. You can pick one up at eBay pretty cheap, or why not go for this small USB Lava lamp.

This side-by-side comparison by a remote from Apple and a remote from Microsoft, supposed to do basically the same things made me smile. You can probably do some things much faster by using the Microsoft remote, but I really like Apple’s design philosophy…
