GPS satellites to get an update
The current GPS system is based on quite old technology and even if it’s good enough in some situations, it really isn’t really _that_ accurate. The GPS system is getting a huge upgrade and the current 24 satellites will be replaced one by one which in the end this will boost the GPS accuracy from the today’s 20 feet to someone’s location within an arm’s length. Turn-by-turn iPhone GPS
The iPhone can finally be used as a ‘true’ GPS navigation in your car thanks to this new kit from TomTom. It’s features TomTom’s twist and lock mount that fits on your windshield at the same time as it charges your phone. You will be able to buy it in the near future. GPS receiver built into a SIM card
It actually sounds a bit too good to be true but Sagem is a trustworthy company and the invention was actually announced sometime last year. Today they announced that they have managed to embed a whole GPS receiver into a traditional SIM card which would make it possible to bring GPS functionality into any phone.
