Facepad for iPad
There’s a shame that there isn’t an official Facebook iPad out yet and other software companies are trying to benefit from that fact. Facepad from Loytr is a free app that is commercialized by showing ads in the bottom of the app.
However it’s really not worth a download. It’s a bit buggy (crashes every now and then), uses a very tiny and blurry font and really doesn’t offer you anything that justifies a download – even though it’s free.
I actually prefer surfing to Facebook through Safari than using this app.
Verdict: Not worth a download.

Rage for iPhone / iPad is out
Today the highly anticipated game ‘Rage’ from id Software is launched in the App Store. It’s a pretty impressive game, even though it feels a bit more like a cool tech demo. Check out the video below (from TouchArcade) to see what you can expect from this game. It’s available in a SD and a HD version, and if you’re having an iPhone 3G or a 3Gs you should probably go with the SD version.
Oh, and if you buy the game and have TV adapter, try plugging in your iPhone / iPad while you play the game…you can play the game on your TV – really neat!

VLC is one of the best media players for the Mac and now the VLC Media Player is live for iPad as well. You may not find it inside your App Store but if you go through the link below you should be able to find it in iTunes:

Chopper 2 – really cool!
If you have an iPad with a component cable or VGA adapter and an iPhone 4 you got to try this new game called ‘Chopper 2′. I think it’s really cool. You control the chopper using your iPhone 4 while the iPad is hosting the game and displaying it on your big screen. With this setup Chopper 2 delivers some true console gaming feeling even though the iPhone’s touch screen isn’t that great as a gaming controller. For $2.99 this is a must have if you already own the gear. Highly recommended. Check out some gameplay above (Note, this video is a few months old and the final game is even better).

Twitter for iPad
Until today I’ve been using the app called ‘Osfoora HD‘ for my iPad twittering needs but that changed today when Twitter launched their official app. It’s free and it’s a really, really good app! This is a must have if you’re a twitterer and own an iPad.
Mac|Life iPad Edition – free issue
Mac|Life just launched their iPad Edition in the app store and you can get the first issue completely free.
We’re calling this initial free app “Issue Zero” and we’re asking you, loyal readers and curious newcomers alike, to take this app for a spin and tell us what you think. We want your feedback on what you do and don’t like, what works for you and what doesn’t, what’s missing or what could be better. And we hope we’ve given you an array of ways to provide that feedback within the app itself. This is just a taste of what’s to come from the team at MacLife and we hope you’ll be a part of the evolution.
Over 250 000 apps in App Store
According to the latest metrics from 148apps there are now over 250 000 apps in the App Store. Let’s say that you try out 10 new apps every day. Then it will take you 25 000 days, or over 68 years to try them all…
Air Display – app review
Today I have done a small test of the $9.99 app ‘Air Display’. The whole purpose with the app is using your iPad (or your iPhone) as a second screen. It’s a neat idea and an app I tried earlier (iDisplay) failed miserably so it was nice to find this app a whole lot more usable. Review and video inside.

Adobe Photoshop Express for iPad
Two days ago Adobe Photoshop Express was made available in the App Store, but it had a few terrible bugs so you couldn’t launch it in landscape mode. It got fixed yesterday and the new version at least works. But is the app any good?
