I got control – iPhone remote
‘I got control’ is a new, clever iPhone device that can turn your phone (or iPod touch / iPad) into a IR remote. The attachement measures 50mm (L) x 29.6mm (W) x 10.4mm (H) and it weighs 14 grams (half an ounce). The device has a price tag of $69.95, so it’s a bit pricey but it can be useful if you want to use your phone to take full control of your media equipment. You need to get the application from the App store as well. I guess you can have quite some fun with it too, just take it to your local sports bar and start switching the channels…

21 forbidden iPhone apps
Many iPhone users are jailbreaking their phones to get access to the forbidden applications that Apple don’t want you to run. I haven’t done it myself, but when you look at the apps you can get I admit that it’s tempting. The top thing that I’m missing is multitasking. Here’s a list of 21 forbidden apps that you can get if you jailbreak your iPhone. Featured above are Multifl0w that is a multitasking handler, MyWi turns your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot and My3G that fools apps into thinking they’re on Wi-Fi rather than 3G. 18 more apps listed over at Networkworld.

PhotoTropedelic for iPhone
I just stumbled across this really cool iPhone application that will turn any of your existing photos (or a freshly snapped one) into a lovely piece of pop art. It has lots of different settings which can create lots of different interesting results, and the best part is that you can save the final file as a PDF. More information inside.
Toon Paint for iPhone
Toon Paint is a really cool application for iPhone that can make any photo look like something from a Marvel comic book. As an example, I created the sketch above in a few seconds using the app. More information inside.
Arcade Hockey for iPhone
Touch Hockey from FS5 was one of the first games I installed for the iPhone and I haven’t used it more than a couple of times but it’s still a quite OK game. Today I bought the $2.99 game Arcade Hockey from Brainjuice. It’s basically the same game in another costume. Here’s a mini review.
Find Nearest Subway in NYC
If you are a lucky owner an iPhone 3G S and live in New York City, you can (soon) try out this really cool application that is one of the first apps that really takes full use of all new features of the new more powerful iPhone. Check out the clip after the jump to see the application in action – it’s really cool.

Turn-by-turn iPhone GPS
The iPhone can finally be used as a ‘true’ GPS navigation in your car thanks to this new kit from TomTom. It’s features TomTom’s twist and lock mount that fits on your windshield at the same time as it charges your phone. You will be able to buy it in the near future. iPhone game – iFighter
If you are looking for a great game for your iPhone and are fond of shoot ‘em ups you will love the iFighter game from EpicForce. It’s a simple but beautiful retro 2D shooter that is currently the most downloaded paid app in the iTunes store. Check it out it’s really quite good. The download weighs 14.1 MB and it will cost you $0.99. More images inside.
iPhone Fluid application
This application is in the same ‘nonsense category’ as the iPhone Spraycan I mentioned yesterday but compared to that one, the ‘Fluid’ application is really fun for at least ten minutes or so. It will let you take any image from your phone (or shoot a brand new one with the built-in camera) and your iPhone screen will behave just like it has a liquid surface. Nice graphics – but as you can see a lot of people rate this one really low. My personal rating is 3 out of 5.
