As the iPhone 4 features a really good camera different camera apps become more and more interesting. Today I tried the ‘Autostitch’ app from Cloudburst Research which is capable of stitching a bunch of images and creating 1 larger panorama photo.

First of all you shoot a bunch of photos. The only thing you have to make sure is that all of the photos have a quite big overlap (at least 30%). Secondly you start the autostitch app, select the photos you just shot and let the app do it’s magic. When you get to see the final panorama you also have the option to crop it, disabling any black areas where you don’t have any photo information.

There aren’t many options built into the app so you can’t really do any customized panoramas. You can change resolution, blending mode and to compensate different exposures. You’ll get the best results if you have the settings as above.

When you have created your panorama you can either save the image in your photo album, mail it or post it on Facebook.

Check out one of my panoramas (click for larger version), automatically stitched to 1 photo from 7 different photos:

Well worth the $2.99 price tag – a strong recommendation! iTunes link.

I just stumbled across this really cool iPhone application that will turn any of your existing photos (or a freshly snapped one) into a lovely piece of pop art. It has lots of different settings which can create lots of different interesting results, and the best part is that you can save the final file as a PDF. More information inside.

This is what the start menu looks like, choose an existing photo from your library or grab a new one.

As I mentioned there are lots of settings to play around with and all of them will get you different end results. I got fond of using the same image colors as the original photo, and using quite a few colors (8).

Here’s another version:

Summary: A nice little application that makes it easy to create quite nice pop art posters from your photos, and the best of all is that you can get a vectorized PDF converter file and not just a low resolution JPG. Go grab it, it’s only 2$ and I think it’s worth the money. Here’s an iTunes link, and here’s a the PhotoTropedelic homepage.
