Apple.com anno 1983
Dave Lawrence spent a few hours in Photoshop and put together this quite funny mockup of what ‘Apple.com’ would have looked like back in 1983.

Classic computer ads
I’m in my mid thirties and have experienced the introduction of many computers like the Apple II, ZX Spectrum, Vic 20, Commodore 64 and so on. That’s probably why I like to look at these old classic computer ads. Above you can see an Apple ad from when they introduced the classic Apple II. You can find a bunch of other ads over at laptoplogic.com.

USB cassette player
If you have lots of old cassette tapes in your drawers you might be interested in this nice little gadget that will convert your old tapes into more useable mp3 files. You still need to record the audio on a PC or Mac though – I would have loved a cassette player that just converted the audio automatically into media files and stored them on a memory card.
Retro handset for your mobile
The YUBZ Talk mobile handset ain’t the most practical one but it’s one of the coolest currently on the market. It’s available in 10 different colors and will be yours for $44.95. More images and info inside.
60 unboxed Game & Watch games
Michael Panayiotakis spent the last 6 years collecting unboxed Nintendo Game & Watch games. He has finally managed to get hold of all 60 of them (59 plus a special edition). His friend Andy Cole has been a collector even longer – 10 years. Over at DSFanboy you can find an interview with them where they try to explain why they do it.

Nerd watch museum
I stumbled across this quite huge gallery (they got hundreds of them) of old nerd watches. The nerdy watch above is an Alba Y765 including a Mamagon Dragon Lady Game Watch.
The Compact Cassette lamp
I guess that some of my youngest readers never even seen a compact cassette – and that just makes this nice lamp even cooler. Each lamp is hand made out of old cassette tapes and they come in various sizes and shapes. Here is another example:

Retro fugly hifi
It aint cheap. It aint good looking. But it is cool and it can convert your vinyls into mp3. It probably sound bad too! Hehe, but I like it! $500 and it’s yours.
Cobra phone replica
I was really surprised when I saw that Firebox had a bunch of fresh Cobra phone remakes in stock. The Cobra, or Scandiphone, is a classic Swedish retro phone from the 1950s that still is very popular over here. The ones you can find over at Firebox looks exactly like the original one. Cool.
