Here is a new Top 10 list containing the coolest lamp and light gadgets out there at the moment. Above you can see the Lightblade Umbrella that got the 4th place on the list. A lot more after the jump.

10.) LED Shower light

The first gadget on the list is for those of you who want a citchy bathroom. The light is powered by a small water turbine so you will never have to worry about changing the batteries. If the water is cold (below 32 degrees C or 89 degress F) the LED shower light turns the color of the water into blue, but as soon as it gets warmer it changes to red. The price is $50 and you can get it from thinkgeek.com.
LED Shower light [thinkgeek.com]

9.) Night Reader Hardcover

If you are a night reader and don’t want to disturb your surroundings with heavy lights, you can use this combined cover and little lamp featured at coolest-gadgets. The Night Reader Hardcover sells for $80 and has a LED lamp that lasts up to 100 000 hours. Pretty sweat.

Night Reader Hardcover [coolest-gadgets.com]

8.) USB Plasma ball

Here’s a neat USB light gadget that looks like no other USB light source you have seen before. It’s completely pointless but looks really cool plus it’s quite affordable at $15. Check it out at I want one of those.
USB Plasma ball [iwantoneofthose.com]

7.) Mood Light Shelf

This is more of an interior design item than a gadget but since there is electricity (hehe, that would justify having all lamps on the list ) involved in this shelf I will let it be a part of this list. It can be arranged in thousands different ways and the color of the lightning is also customizable. The price is a bit on the expensive side, US$229.00, but it’s a really cool item.
Mood Light Shelf [gnr8.biz]

6.) Graffiti Light in a Can

Here is a really nice combination of a UV light sensitive sheet, and a spray can that consists of a fluid that makes it possible to ‘paint’ on the sheet. Your graffiti will fade out within an hour and then you are ready to give it another go. Great gadget for $50.
Glow Graffiti Light in a Can [thinkgeek.com]

5.) Lightsaber USB lamp

<img src="http://www.fosfor.com/i09/07/090720_3g.jpg" alt="Lightsaber USB lamp"

Here is a nice USB gadget for all Star Wars fans out there. It’s a USB powererd lightsaber that lights up when you hit a nice bronze button on the handle. Together with your iPhone and the light sabre app you can have lots of fun. Your for around $30.
Lightsaber USB lamp [gadgets-for-men.co.uk/]

4.) Lightblade Umbrella

If you want to be geeky on the streets you can go ahead and buy one of these lightblade umbrellas. When you flick the button the shaft starts glowing intensively. You will have to provide your own sound effects though
Lightblade Umbrella [iwantoneofthose.com]

3.) USB DJ Plasma Tube

It’s hard to justify these cool tubes with words, so check out this short video of the tubes in action to get an idea of what they are all about. Really cool if you play some adaptive music in a dark room. They are pretty cheap, $13 a piece, but you should get at least a couple of them to get the desired effect.

USB DJ Plasma Tube [usbgeek.com]

2.) Laser Home Show

This home show almost took the grand prize but since you have to build it by yourself, it got downgraded to the silver position. But this guide shows you how to build a nice little home laser show for just a few bucks. Very cool!
Laser Home Show [gmilburn.ca]

1.) The Alien abduction lamp

And here is the winner on today’s list of cool light gadgets – the Alien abduciton lamp designed by Lasse Klein. Ain’t it cool? We think so – a clear winner! The UFO even has pulsing lights at the top!
Cow Alien lamp [eirikso.com]

Runner ups

Here is a couple more lamps / lamp gadgets that didn’t make it into the final list, but I still think they are worth mentioning:

Movable mannequin lamp

Here is a pretty neat desigern lamp that basically is a small metallic mannequin with movable limbs. It is designed by the Singapore based designer brand ‘Daniel Loves Objects‘.

Movable mannequin lamp [outnext.com]

USB Speaker with mood lighting

A nice small USB speaker that features some nice blue, mood lighting. If it would have featured some kind of adaptive lighting it would definitely have made it on to the list. It’s pretty cheap as well, only $22.
USB Speaker Has Mood Lighting [thehottestgadgets.com]

USB LED message badge

Here is a small battery powered message badge that is programmed through some nifty software and a USB cable. It will cost you around $50, depending on what color you choose. The device can hold up to 6 different messages. Handy for the night club or party.
USB LED message badge [thehottestgadgets.com]
[brando.com.hk]

Retro

Lava lamp

The classic Lava lamp has it’s origin from the 1970′s and it’s still a very popular lamp. You can pick one up at eBay pretty cheap, or why not go for this small USB Lava lamp.

If you know of any other cool gadget lamp feel free to add it in the comments.
